I broke my finger years ago?

when i was 6 or 7, my three fingers broke because an 80 pound, rectangular stone fell on them. it has been years and whenever i hold a pen or pencil and start writing, the side of my middle finger where the pen is touching starts to hurt a lot. i have to stop writing just to make the pain go away. why is my finger still hurting
