My laptop is acting wonky, can someone help?

everytime i try to open start and type into search i get nothing but the numbers 0-9 over and over. when i press normal keys. saying hi would look like 01 and anything after would be 2 then three and so on. what is wrong? its not my num lock and i dont have this problem on websites, just on my saving of pics, and my search in start as far as i know :( can someone please help me?
